This Kid Needs to Work on His Flying Headbutt

I have watched enough pro wrestling in my day to know an A+ flying headbutt when I see one. Ladies and gentlemen, today we’re going to break down a clip of a kid who is obviously training to be a professional wrestler, but definitely needs to work on his flying headbutts. It’s just part of what we do here. We try to make everyone better at the things they want to be better at. I mean, you can go ahead and call us coaches if you want, but I like to think of us more as like…saints…because….I’m not trying to make us sound like heroes or anything, but we do save lives with our journalism. Thankfully, I am so humble that I would never call that out, though.

As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this video down.

Now, my first tip here would be to practice your flying headbutts on something that is not a trash can. They aren’t exactly known for their pliability, so if you catch one the wrong way, you’re going to hurt yourself. That’s not what the boys want to deal with. Nobody wants to work an unsafe guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing. And, if you’re training with a trash can, boy – I hate to tell you, but that is a HUGE red flag.

Second, whatever you choose to practice with, you have to know how to position it. Ideally, you probably don’t want something you’re going to have to jump to reach approximately three feet in front of you. That’s not going to set you up to execute the move successfully. You’re not even jumping to the trash can, and you’re falling all crooked and bent. This kid looks like a duck that was just shot out of the air, falling.

Finally, maybe it would help to practice in an actual wrestling ring. Unless, of course, you ONLY plan on hooking your flying headbutt off a chair in a room with a ceiling that is entirely too low.

That is all for today’s PSA. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
