Stabbing Someone Who Keeps Spoiling Book Endings Shouldn’t Even Be Considering a Crime

Spoiling movie and book endings is about one of the least endearing qualities a person can possess. You’re just a real twat of a human if you’re that type. But, whereas a movie only takes up a couple of hours, reading a book takes a good chunk of time. Like, I read five books a year. So, if you tell me what happens before I finish a book, you’ve just wasted months of my time. Yeah, spoiling book endings is infinitely worse.

But, if I’m in Antarctica, where there’s a limited supply of books to begin with, it is even more infinitely infinitely worse. And, that’s just what happened to homeboy in the story we’re going to read about today, kids. Gather ’round.

Frustrated when his colleague kept on telling him the ending of books, a scientist in a remote outpost in Antarctica resorted to violence:

Sergey Savitsky, 55, and Oleg Beloguzov, 52, were avid readers to pass the lonely hours during four harsh years together. But Savitsky became angry after Beloguzov kept telling him the endings, it is alleged. The victim is now in intensive care after being flown from Russia’s Bellingshausen research station on King George Island to Chile with a knife injury to his heart.

Savitsky is now under arrest under what is believed to be the first attempted murder in Antarctica.

Okay, call me crazy, but this is a perfectly reasonable response to someone ruining the endings of books, tbh. Personally, I don’t think this should even be a crime.

They say “resorted to violence” as if there was any other option.

Sergey didn’t have a choice. You just can’t have Oleg’s bullshit. But, I guess this is just another case of “one man’s attempted murder is another man’s justice.”
