The Terry Robiskie Revenge Tour Continues As Former Titans OC Signs With Jacksonville

Well, well, well – look who’s back in the AFC South. None other than former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie. You might remember Robiskie as a key cog in the Mike Mularkey engine. There’s a lot of rumor and innuendo as to what exactly happened to Mularkey and his staff, but I’m not close enough to the team to know and won’t pretend to be. The big theory is that Mularkey was asked to clean house and refused out of loyalty to his assistants. However, it’s completely reasonable to assume that it was just a matter of advancing the Titans offense and that Jon Robinson and company didn’t see that happening with Mularkey.

I don’t know – but I do know that regardless, Robiskie’s tenure with the Titans ended after the 2017 season and five million jet sweeps to Taywan Taylor.

Since then, Robiskie has been on a warpath against the Titans. It’s evident – he tried to bring a dog into a Nashville restaurant, and then he took a job with the Buffalo Bills. They were one of the worst teams in the AFC, and yet – they beat the Titans. It’s obvious that his presence on the Bills sideline is what did the Titans in that day. As a result, the Bills gave him the game ball for that victory. Fitting, considering how wronged he was by the Titans and all….

Now, Robiskie’s revenge tour against the Titans, as he’s returned to the AFC South to be the running backs coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Courtesy of Pro Football Talk:

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to hire Terry Robiskie as their new running backs coach, per multiple reports.

The Jaguars fired Tyrone Wheatly as the team’s running backs coach at the conclusion of the regular season after Tom Coughlin levied criticism upon Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon for their demeanor during the team’s final game of the year.

While Robiskie played running back in college at LSU and in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins, he hasn’t specifically coached the position since serving as an assistant running backs coach for the Los Angeles Raiders from 1985-87. Robiskie has predominantly been a wide receivers coach throughout his career with a pair of stints as an offensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns. He was also the interim head coach of the Browns in 2004 when Butch Davis was fired midseason.

Robiskie spent last season as the receivers coach of the Buffalo Bills.

Well, I, for one, think the AFC South is better with Robiskie in it. But, it is painfully obvious that Robiskie is only going to coach for teams who are bitter rivals of the Titans. He’s out for revenge, and he’s out for blood.

And, if you want some serious analysis for once, yes – I’ll concede. I do believe Robiskie is a solid position coach. I just love fun, and I am bent on burning that ‘jet sweep to Taywan Taylor’ joke to the ground.
