The AAF is awesome. There – I said it. The first week was one thing – everyone was buzzing about it….and why not? It’s essentially “spring football” – we have something to hold our attention all the way up to the NFL Draft! I don’t care that it’s with old players and players no one’s ever heard of. IT’S FOOTBALL!
But, coming out guns a blazing in week two shows that this franchise is ready to take the next step as the preeminent brand of spring football. That’s right – can’t just anoint the AAF the kings of spring with one successful week…but two? Crown they ass. I don’t care that they essentially ran out of money and sold the entire league to the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes. Not concerning at all.
It’s just entertaining – I haven’t even mentioned the involvement of Steve Spurrier yet. Man’s a legend and he’s as electric as ever. Then, you got guys scrambling around making plays like this:

Do I know who ANY of these players are? No – absolutely not. But, I don’t need to. Patrick Mahomes couldn’t pull that off in his dreams! And you got ol’ boy out here running it with about a dozen defenders on his back.
By the transitive property, can we therefore declare this kid the 2018 NFL MVP? I’m a journalist – it’s my job to ask these questions.
Look – maybe you guys still aren’t into the idea of what’s perceived as minor league football, but if you don’t jump on the bandwagon now, you’re going to be left in the dust.
