WrestleMania 35 Predictions

It’s the day of WrestleMania 35, like….an hour before the show starts…which I know means probably no one will read this. I thought I’d get it out a few days ago, but the SoBros team spent the week in Jersey City for all the ‘Mania week stuff and it consumed my soul. So, yeah….whatever – here are my WrestleMania 35 predictions.

WrestleMania 35 Predictions

Cruiserweight Championship: Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese – Stoked for this one. The Cruiserweights stole the pre-show last year, and I expect these guys to do the same. Murphy has been one of the best Cruiserweight Champions in WWE since the resurgence of the title, and Nese has put in some phenomenal work himself. Ultimately, I think Murphy’s reign continues.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – No fucking clue. Apollo Crews. Actually, I said they should just let one of the SNL guys win it. Why not at this point?

WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal – Again, no fucking clue. I’m hoping for a big moment for Ruby Riott, but think they’ll probably throw Asuka a bone after jacking her title and give her the trophy.

Raw Tag Team Championship: The Revival vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder – What a moment it would be if Hawkins got the pin and they won the championships. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled the trigger on that, but think they’ll let The Revival continue their run.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs. The Bar vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev – Think this one is all about showcasing The Usos as the best tag team in the world today. Plain and simple.

Intercontinental Championship: Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Balor – The Demon ain’t losing, y’all. Especially to Lashley.

United States Championship: Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio – Is Mysterio good enough to go for this one? I mean, yeah – I’m a journalist. I should know, and I could just look it up, but that would involve due diligence and I’m on a tight deadline, y’all. Samoa Joe walks out with the belt.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Boss n’ Hug Connection vs. The Divas of Doom vs. The IIconics vs. Nia Jax & Tamina – Again, feels like this one’s built to be the feel good event for the Four Horsewomen. Don’t see Banks and Bayley losing.

Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin – The show is simply not going to end with 16 feel-good moments. I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see Corbin win this one to get him over as a shit ass heel with Angle riding off into the sunset. That said, this is prime real estate for shenanigans. I still think Angle wins.

Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns – This is another one that’s so obvious that it makes me think it’s a good spot for an upset. I’m actually going to go ahead and call it – McIntyre wins.

A.J. Styles vs. Randy Orton – This is an easy spot to have the good guy lose and let New York shit all over independent wrestling. Orton wins.

Falls Count Anywhere: The Miz vs. Shane McMahon – Miz wins, but I really hope we get an elbow drop out of George Mizanin. I was actually pretty lukewarm on this one to begin with, but the story has been put together nicely. Now, it’s one of the matches I’m looking forward to most.

No Holds Barred: Triple H vs. Batista – If Triple H loses, he has to give up in-ring action. I don’t know that he’s ready to do that yet, so I’m saying he wins. Regardless, this one ought to be a fun slugfest.

WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston – It has to be Kofi, right? RIGHT?!?! I don’t know – like I said, there’s going to be a few spots on this show that don’t end in feel-good moments. This one seems like a lock, so keep your guard up. I still say #KofiMania reigns supreme.

Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins – I’m going Brock here because of the surprise factor. I think this is the one main title that doesn’t change hands. You convinced me, Mose.

Winner Take All: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey – I literally have no idea how this is going to go. Lynch is one of the hottest stars in wrestling right now. Rousey is undefeated. Flair has the pedigree. It could be any of ’em. This one seems like ‘all signs point to Lynch,’ but I think Flair’s going to walk out with the title and they’re going to run with this whole ‘Ms. WrestleMania’ thing.

Enjoy WrestleMania day, folks! Check back later this evening for results and my quick match ratings.
