Podcast: Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s Live Through This, Catching Up on the SCI Field

In just a few short hours, “The General” John Mosley and I will be en route to catch Paradigm Pro Wrestling Live Through This LIVE from The Arena in Jeffersonville, Indiana – doors at 7:15PM, bell time at 8PM. Mose was kind enough to join me for a brand new episode of Checks and Championships to preview this show and catch up on other indie wrestling happenings in the area.

Yeah – to say this is a stacked card would be an understatement. Not only will A.J. Gray be on hand to defend the Paradigm Pro Championship, but Matthew Justice will be defending the Blackcraft Heavyweight Championship as well. That makes for two monumental championship matches.

But, we’re also going to see a match that the south has been clamoring for for months now – Brett Ison vs. Gary Jay in a Taped Fists Match. Paradigm is throwing violence directly at us tonight – a Stairway to Hell match, a Portal to Pain match, a Street Fight. Dominic Garrini is taking on Freddie Hudson in a Pride FC Rules match. Shit, I’m beginning to think they’re literally going to open up an alternate dimension. We just may spend the night in hell, ladies and gentlemen.

Then, we shift gears and catch up on the current 10-man field for the 2019 Scenic City Invitational so far. We both pick our current favorites – I’m rolling with Anthony Henry, Mose is rolling with O’Shay Edwards, talk about the prospects of Joey Lynch repeating, and the influx of national and international talent coming to Chattanooga this summer.

The conversation gets a little dicey once we start talking about the remaining six spots in the tournament. It was supposed to be a fun discussion of guys we’d like to see in the SCI tournament. But, the fact that Brett Ison has been left out of the field is a point of contention for Mose. Brett’s been vocal about wanting in the tournament, but I don’t know if that’s the right play for him. The SCI team could have quite the mess on its hands. Regardless, we discuss the matter at great length.
