I’m not gonna lie, y’all…I didn’t know Paul had this kinda drip in him. You couldn’t have seen this coming from a mile away. Effortless delivery….so effortless that you can’t help but wonder if Paul had secretly been preparing for this moment for years….just knowing it would blow up and create viral internet content.
Regardless, it’s a firm reminder of just how good of an entertainer he is, which I’m pretty sure is the chief goal of every meteorologist. Anybody can be right about this shit…but who’s going to step up and be entertaining? That’s what separates the big time meteorologists from the little time meteorologists. Can you just drop Notorious B.I.G. lyrics in a newscast on a whim? That should be the measure of a meteorologist’s success. I don’t know if it is, but it really should be.
I don’t think there’s a day that goes by without someone in Nashville thinking about Paul and wishing he was back in the Music City. Might even shed a tear about it, too. It’s not me. Definitely not me. I swear. Probably one of these Nashville housewives that got all riled up two years ago when he left town. They flooded our inbox with support for Paul much like their panties were flooded from Paul being on their television screens. I should probably take that last sentence out, but it’s too damn good, so I’m just going to stand by it. Fuck it.
I don’t know. Maybe the spirit of Raleigh just changes a man. That’s a possibility, too. Next thing you know, there’s going to be a Netflix documentary about Paul Heggen. It’s going to be about how he got caught up in some beef with some West Coast meteorologist trying to lay claim to the throne.
