2019 has been a hell of a year for referee Doug Markham.
While we were down in Chattanooga for the 2019 Scenic City Invitational, Doug was gracious enough to sit down with Mose and myself to record an interview for an episode of Checks and Championships.
We dive into Doug’s fascinating background in wrestling, how he got into the business, and what caused him to gravitate towards officiating. Then, we get into the year he’s had so far with MLW, GCW, and of course, SUP. I ask the important question, “what’s it like to have a cult following in The Basement East?”
Plus, we chat about his fire ass merch and Doug tells us all where we can buy it (without waving his microphone in the air where no one can hear him…).
Doug’s one of those guys who is just absolutely infectious to be around – such a kind, genuine, and fun spirit. I hope we were able to convey that in our podcast with the guy, because he deserves it.
