Revive Pro: Stayin’ Alive Recap

After a little bit of a hiatus, Revive Pro Wrestling was back this past weekend with a lineup featuring young and established talent alike. They had a hot crowd that was clamoring for some badass wrestling and my oh my did they get it.

Revive Pro Championship- Matt Gilbert (c) vs. Toby Farley: It may have been the opener, but fans were telling me on the way out that this was the main event. The two absolute beat the hell out of one another though that isn’t a surprise if you know them. Sure, there were plenty of power moves, but this one felt like a battle of chops/thunderclaps. The two went to war for 20 minutes before the time ran out leaving us with a draw. The crowd really, really wanted the match to continue with a roaring “Five more minutes” chant. The two agreed that this was far from over with both men saying they would meet again under the Revive banner ASAP.

Jebediah Carlton vs. Chris Jones: I know what you’re thinking and yes Jeb is Amish. He’s the “Fratboy of the Amish Community” which has me raising questions but screw it – the Revive crowd loved him. I mean, it’s not everyday you see an Amish fella in Nikes tearing it up in the ring. His opponent is a guy I’ve not seen a ton of, but he was hella lanky with some explosive offense. Jones wins with a gnarly DDT after catching Carlton in the ropes. Crowd was really into this after that hellacious opener. Props to both guys.

Dallas Troy vs. Andrew Thomas vs. Adam McCormick: There was a lot going on in this one y’all. Early on Dallas/Adam went to work on AT which the crowd absolutely loved. With Andrew down the other two men started smashing each other up which is always fun to watch. All three dudes had their moments before Dallas Troy came away with the win thanks to that gorgeous head of hair. Ok so he did not win because of his hair but he totally should/could have.

Post-match saw Brent Powers show up and smash everyone up with his fists and a cookie sheet that made some hellacious sounds when meeting skull.

Chase Jordan vs. Peyton Polson: This one was a lot of fun thanks to both guys going out and wanting to steal the show. We all know and love Peyton so I was pretty fired up to see what he brought against a guy like Jordan that may or may not have been talking some smack to our Human BB Gun. Polson made him pay though as he landed a dropkick that sent Jordan into the crowd and a mess of steel chairs that were left by fans trying to get out of the way. The two would fight back into the ring though that wouldn’t stop them from attempting to kill one another. After back and forth action Chase Jordan ends up getting the 1-2-3. Really solid stuff here.

Revive Pro Tag Team Championships- Wayne Moxxi (c) vs. The Movement: Yes this was for the tag titles though only one man was there to defend said titles. ‘The Dreamweaver’ may not have known where his partner was, but he showed up ready to throw down anyway. This ended up being a handicap tag team tornado match which left Moxxi with little more than a puncher’s chance. He threw everything he had at the team of Chip Hazard and Talon Williams but the numbers game was just too much. The Movement win becoming the new tag team champs. Big time shoutout to Moxxi through for showing off the heart/fight that he’s becoming known for.

King of the Canvas Title- Nick Traimer (c) vs. Jeremy Travis: If you hold the KOTC title you can turn it in at anytime for a shot at the Revive Pro Championship. It also looks pretty damn cool.

This was a slower paced match with both men really just looking to beat the other down more than get the pinfall. A lot of people would love the opportunity to punch Traimer in the face…Jeremy Travis is one of those people. The two battled with things starting to go in the way of Travis. Then, out of nowhere, Nick Traimer straight up kicked the ref in the dick. He kicked like he was kicking a 50 yard field goal and I can tell you that he would have made it from 60. This led to a disqualification making Travis the winner but the KOTC wasn’t gonna change hands off that. As the ref lay in the ring, Traimer celebrated on the outside, which was pretty damn funny, though I hate to admit it.

After the ring was cleared, Matt Gilbert and Toby Farley came back out to make their rematch official for the next show. Just then, The Movement and Andrew Thomas attacked Toby and drug him to the back as Nick Traimer smashes Gilbert. Traimer turned in his King of the Canvas title and we were off.

Revive Pro Championship- Matt Gilbert (c) vs. Nick Traimer: Gilbert fought as best he could for a man that was legit jumped but it was over quick. Nick Traimer gets the pin and is the new Revive Pro Champion. As the show ended, Traimer, Thomas and The Movement held up all the Revive gold to a stunned audience.

There was a lot to like on this first show back for Revive Pro. The crowd was hot all night and really enjoyed the product which has to make the Revive office super pumped moving forward. Revive Pro will be back in action on September 22 with ‘Victory is Ours’ kicking off at 2pm. Be sure to check out Revive Pro on twitter and Facebook for updates on the card!
