Bills at Titans: Injury Report
- Titans OT Taylor Lewan returns from a four-game suspension. He should solidify a problematic offensive line that has left QB Mariota prone to pressures and sacks.
- Bills QB Josh Allen remains in concussion protocol. The team has started the week prepping QB Barkley as the potential starter. Barkley doesn’t possess the mobility that presents rushing yards and rushing touchdowns upside. Compared to Allen, Barkley’s ceiling is a good bit lower.
- Titans TE Walker and LB Cameron Wake both missed Wed. practice. These absences appear like maintenance issues.
Bills at Titans: Lines (As of Oct. 2)
- Titans (-3)
- Over/Under 38.5
Bills at Titans: NFL DFS Advice
- Expect this game to play UNDER 38.5. Both teams rely on dominant defenses. The Bills will either have a backup quarterback or a starter fresh off the concussion protocol. Neither team has surrendered more than 20 points in a game. The Bills defense held Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to 16 points. The Titans defense held Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons offense to 10 points—in their house. Last year, Buffalo defeated Tennessee, 13-12. Unless there’s a defensive TD or special teams TD, it’s hard to envision a ceiling higher than 37 (20-17).
- Titans QB Mariota has yet to throw an interception. The Titans offense is very conservative. The lack of pick-6 potential makes me advise against playing Bills defense.
- About the only element of this contest worth considering is the Titans defense. Allen and Barkley both have moderate to high probabilities for giveaways. The Titans have one of the NFL’s best defensive backfields. While Titans CBs Malcolm Butler and Adoree’ Jackson are prone to deep passes, Bills WR John Brown doesn’t have enough of a supporting cast to pose much of a threat. The Titans held a much more dangerous offense in check (Falcons WR Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley).
- Proceed with caution. Not enough upside with any offensive players. A lot of very low scoring floors with limited upside. Buffalo’s offensive players are almost entirely unplayable.
