Welcome to NFL DFS advice for the Chargers at Titans matchup during Week 7 of the 2019 season. Every week, Joshua Huffman will preview some of the main participants from the Tennessee Titans games. These guides will include player pricing, injuries, potential mismatches, and anything else players should consider when choosing players from Tennessee and/or their opponents.

Chargers at Titans: Key Players & Pricing

  • Derrick Henry ($5800)
  • Ryan Tannehill (4800)
  • Corey Davis (4000)
  • Dion Lewis (3900)
  • A.J. Brown (3800)
  • Delanie Walker (3800)
  • Adam Humphries (3400)
  • Titans D/ST (3200)
  • Keenan Allen ($6700)
  • Austin Ekeler (6200)
  • Melvin Gordon III (5900)
  • Philip Rivers (5500)
  • Mike Williams (4600)
  • Hunter Henry (4000)
  • Chargers D/ST (3100)

Chargers at Titans: Injury Report

  • While not injury related, Titans QB Marcus Mariota has been benched for Tannehill. It’s a mystery as to how he’ll produce with a much better supporting cast than he ever had with the Miami Dolphins. While he should provide an upgrade as a passer, he doesn’t provide the rushing upside.
  • Chargers DE Melvin Ingram continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since Week 4. If he doesn’t play, it would help a Titans offensive line that has surrendered sacks at a record-breaking pace. Of course, some of those sacks were due to Mariota holding the ball too long. Tannehill also has that tendency.

Chargers at Titans: Lines (As of Oct. 16)

  • Titans (-2)
  • Over/Under 39.5 to 40

Chargers at Titans: NFL DFS Advice

  • Expect this game to play UNDER to AROUND 39.5 to 40. The Tennessee Titans haven’t allowed anyone to score more than 20 points in a game. It’s hard to determine what Tannehill will do. At $4800 with a slew of cheap underachieving wide receivers who haven’t had many opportunities due to the offense’s ineffectiveness, why not make some stacks? Tannehill is worth a try. The wide receivers are definitely worth looking into.
  • The Los Angeles Chargers have two running backs who are typically priced in the $7000 range when they’re earning the bulk of carries. This makes Ekeler ($6200) and Gordon III ($5900) enticing. With Gordon returning from his holdout, Ekeler’s production should remain limited. In his first two games, Gordon has 20 carries for 49 yards. Each running back shares PPR responsibilities. They’re facing a defense whose biggest runs are allowed when they’re tired during the late fourth quarter due to an ineffective offense forcing them on the field too much.

Stay away from Ekeler. His usage will continue to decline. Gordon has a better chance to make value, but it’s not great. Both running backs have a low floor, limited ceiling. Proceed with caution.
  • Contrarians could feel intrigued to play Chargers WR Allen at his lowest price point ($6700) this season. The Titans have yet to allow a wide receiver to gain 100 yards on them. SCB Logan Ryan is one of the NFL’s top nickelbacks. The Titans have five defensive backs who’ve been playing well. Despite the lower price, I’m not seeing enough upside here.
  • Since Sep. 1993, the Titans are 1-11 against the Chargers. Their last game occurred during Oct. 2018. The Chargers won 20-19 in London.
  • Defenses are respectable. Look into paying up about $1000 for Bills ($4300) or 49ers ($4100). You can have the Bears defense ($3000) coming off a bye week for cheaper than either the Titans or Chargers. Those three defenses are more enticing.
  • Give one of Tennessee’s WRs a try. Titans WR Davis appeared to have some chemistry with Tannehill. He plays a larger amount of snaps than Titans WR Brown. The jackpot may come during next week’s game against that awful Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary—but that’s next week.
