This ‘Favorite Thanksgiving Pie’ Map Is an Outright Joke

Last week, this map of the United States that supposedly shows the ‘Favorite Thanksgiving Pie’ in each region of the country went a bit viral. But, folks – I am here to say that it is complete and utter bullshit. See for yourselves before we dive in:

First of all, I don’t know how they do things from Nevada to North Dakota, but somebody needs to tell these folks that blackberries AIN’T EVEN IN SEASON come Thanksgiving. I love a good blackberry pie, but it’s not even on my radar in November.

Speaking of summer time, I’m a big time #TeamCoconut guy. But, coconut at the holidays is, quite simply, wrong. Like blackberry, that’s a summertime flavor, y’all. I don’t recall ever eating a coconut pie at Thanksgiving, so I’m going to have to call my own state out and ask who these monsters are that are eating coconut pies at Thanksgiving!

I can see the Gulf states being big time key lime pie states, but again, I typically think of that as a summertime flavor. But, I’m not going to hold that against them too much.

As for you, west coast, I’m not hating – I just didn’t realize you guys had heard of sweet potato pie. I thought that was a southern thing – at least that’s what esteemed musicians Alabama led me to believe as a child.

The northeast is doing it right with their pecan pies. Definitely a suitable Thanksgiving pie. But, this map is just all over the place.

And, finally, you’re telling me that of all the regions in the country, we didn’t get one mention of a good ol’ pumpkin pie?

I call it like I see it – that is some bull ass shit.
