Review: Buffalo Wild Wing’s Down South Margarita

Brittany Fernandez recently ventured out to Buffalo Wild Wings and took a stab at their patented Down South Margarita.

Buffalo Wild Wings has a drink on their menu that you need to try. Yes, it’s sugary and delicious, but it also comes with a snack.

The Down South Margarita:
-Sauza Gold Tequila
-Mountain Dew
-Melon Liqueur
-Lime Sour
-Salt Rim
-Slim Jim garnish

This drink might be the epitome of how other regions of the United States see the South. But you know what? Screw ’em. The Down South Margarita is actually delicious.

The bartender didn’t add the salt rim to mine, but I think that was a blessing. It came in a substantial size glass and they didn’t skimp on the tequila. The melon liqueur brings down the bold, fizzy flavor of the Mountain Dew while the sour mix creates the classic margarita element. Drinking it was a breeze. The best part, though? Stirring it with the Slim Jim.

I really want to know who the person was behind this masterpiece. And who was their cup-bearer in the royal castle that this was obviously invented in? That would’ve been a hell of a job.

Anyway, if you’re feeling your roots, please head to Buffalo Wild Wings and order a Down South Margarita. Toast to the South.
