It’s tough times out there in the Music City, folks. This global pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns that came with it have put a huge strain on local economies the world over. There’s a whole lot of people hurtin’ right now. Speaking specifically to our hometown, Nashville, it’s heartbreaking to see the vibrant city we love so much come to a screeching halt. So much of what we do and what we’re known for is tied up in the entertainment and hospitality industry, and right now, there are a lot of folks who are out of work or who have had their work cut significantly. That just plain sucks. Thankfully, People Supporting Artists (PSA) has teamed up with MusiCares to help the artist community out by putting on a telethon this Saturday night (4/11) at 6PM CST:
As most people know, the recent pandemic has rocked the entertainment industry, causing venues, restaurants, and bars to shutter their doors, and every artist to cancel their tours for the foreseeable future.
MusiCares has responded to this crises by launching a COVID-19 Relief Fund to support these affected artists, musicians, and crew members. So we intend to support Musicares, by raising money and Producing a Telethon for the ages.
Good, good stuff. Who can resist the pure sex that is John Oates? That alone ought to be enough to get you to tune in. Research studies (read: pure speculation) have shown that listening to John Oates on a Saturday night almost always leads to sex. You’re welcome.
But, seriously – tune in for a good night of music supporting a good cause. And if you can’t post up in front of a livestream on Saturday night, you can still donate to the MusiCares COVID-19 relief fund here.
I tried my best to put into words what this whole thing has been like. It’s weird out there right now. But, it’s good to see people taking care of each other and this city coming together to help out. Remember to check in on yourselves during this time, and if you need a little support, there’s nothing wrong with that. We’re all in this together. Time to be there for each other.
