Welcome back to the NFL Power Rankings on SoBros Network, which I’m still using to hopefully cash in on the SoBros Network being approved by Google News. My process is simple – I’m just looking at wins, losses, and the eye test to determine my top 10 teams in the league as we head into Week 9 of the 2020 season.
NFL POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 9 2020
1. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-0) – What was missing from this team? A GRITTY win against a quality opponent – they’ve done it two weeks in a row now, proving themselves to be the most complete team in the NFL. This is a team that should definitely be thinking Super Bowl at this point. They travel to Dallas to play the lowly Cowboys this Sunday afternoon.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) – I mean, yeah…it’s the Jets. The Chiefs were dancing on their graves before the game was even over. But, it certainly looks as though this team is starting to get into a rhythm. They host Carolina in an interesting game on Sunday.
3. Seattle Seahawks (6-1) – Russell Wilson and that Seahawks passing attack continues to just overwhelm opponents. DK Metcalf is out there making plays left and right. This is a dangerous, explosive team. They travel across the country to Buffalo for a HUGE game on Sunday.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) – Struggling against a 1-6 New York Giants squad doesn’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence when you’re talking about Super Bowls. But, this is still one of the most electric offenses in the league. The Bucs had to withstand a Giants team that was playing amped up and desperate for a win. Credit to them for getting it done – they host the Saints in a MASSIVE game on Sunday Night Football this week.
5. Green Bay Packers (5-2) – I’m not so sure the Vikings are as bad as their record would indicate. Still, that’s probably a game the Packers want back. I’m not too concerned about it. This is still a team that’s 4th in the league in points per game, and the Bears are the only real threat to the NFC North. That looks like a winnable match-up for the Packers. They travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers on Thursday Night Football.
6. New Orleans Saints (5-2) – I want so badly to put the Saints in the top five, but something still just doesn’t feel quite right about them. We have a huge showdown on our hands on Sunday Night Football this week, as the Saints travel to Tampa Bay to play the Bucs with first place in the NFC South on the line.
7. Buffalo Bills (6-2) – The Bills are….back? Are they back? Or, are the Patriots just having a catastrophic season? I’m going to say that at 6-2, the Bills are about where I thought they’d be halfway through the season. This is a good team that might make the AFC playoff race interesting. They host the Seahawks in a big time test on Sunday.
8. Baltimore Ravens (5-2) – Oh buddy, Lamar Jackson is very much NOT the MVP-level player he was in 2019. That’s going to put a ceiling on how good this Ravens team can be, but with the ground game they have, they’ve at least got a shot to make some noise in January. They travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts in a big time AFC showdown on Sunday.
9. Arizona Cardinals (5-2) – Can’t drop ’em out of the top 10 on a bye. Them’s the rules. This team sure is fun to watch – especially that Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins connection. Who would’ve thought that a Week 9 showdown between the Cardinals and Dolphins would have such high stakes?!?!
10. Indianapolis Colts (5-2) – Time to start showing some love to the Colts. They’re 5-1 since that odd opening loss to the Jags. They’ve also picked things up on offense, scoring 72 points in their last two games. It looks like this AFC South race is going to heat up in the coming weeks. They’re playing a big game hosting the Ravens this week.

CURRENT SUPER BOWL PREDICTION
As it stands after Week 8, I’m going with Steelers over Seahawks. Wilson and Metcalf have some real magic going, whereas the Steelers are the most complete team in football.
