We Stan John Cena Eating 31 Empanadas on Set of the Suicide Squad

John Cena ate 31 freaking empanadas on set for The Suicide Squad. Our king!

Man, John Cena is on a hell of a run. The man is making a seamless transition from life after the WWE into a big time Hollywood career. Now, we have to stop short of calling him the next Dwayne Johnson, but with each big role he lands, it’s obvious Cena is carving out a role of his own. But, it’s his role in the upcoming DC flick, The Suicide Squad, that has me clamoring to the trusty ol’ Macbook to pen this essay.

Cena’s playing Peacemaker, and I’ll be damned, but I don’t know shit about the Peacemaker. The execs at HBO must’ve seen something in his performance though, since it was announced that Peacemaker would be getting his own spinoff series heading straight to HBO Max. And, then there’s the fact that just about everything Cena touches turns to gold.

He made news last week when a story about a roof top scene in The Suicide Squad that saw the champ take 31 empanadas to the gut went viral.

John Cena: There was a day where we shot on a roof top, where we’re all eating. I had to eat an empanada, and I took it upon myself to try to eat the entire empanada in a seamless take thinking that it’ll look great. But it was also a complicated shot for James. 31 empanadas later we got it right.

Hell yeah. King shit! 31 empanadas in ONE fucking sitting, we stan!

Can you imagine that for a minute? I love empanadas like nobody’s business (shout out to CHIVANADA), but 31 of them?!?! That makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. What does that even look like? I don’t know that I could even line up 31 empanadas on my kitchen counter, but to be fair, my kitchen is tiny. R.I.P. to John Cena’s toilet – that had to be a hell of a turd. You could put a leash on that thing and walk it down the block.

But, that’s what kings are willing to do to get things done, and more importantly, to get ’em done right.

Now the general public is learning what WWE fans have known for quite some time. John Cena is the hardest working man in show business – no question about it anymore, and if you are questioning it, then shame on you. This man will do whatever it takes to make sure things are done the right way, even if it means blowing up his intestines and creating The Incredible Hulk of food babies.
