It has been a hot minute since Rooster and I took a deep dive into some wild and outlandish conspiracy theory on our little-bit-of-everything podcast, Phone It In. But, the first time we did it (HAARP), it was a damn good time. Truth be told, we love talking about this stuff, but we’re always kicking the conspiracy theory can on down the road thinking it’s just too easy. That’s part of the creativity of Phone It In – finding random shit to talk about. But, I have to say…I was pretty stoked when Rooster came to me and said, “y’know…it has been awhile since we did a conspiracy theory episode.” We quickly landed on MK-Ultra, and honestly, even though this episode goes right around an hour, there’s just so much to get to that there’s no way we could’ve covered every branch on the conspiracy tree.
Nonetheless, we had a great time diving into the history of the MK-Ultra program – how it started as a way to basically get more confessions out of people and spiraled into some sort of weird behavior modification and mind control conspiracy theory. Whether you believe all of the whispers and rumors or not, no one can deny that our very own government did some pretty shady shit under the MK-Ultra banner. They experimented on soldiers, prisoners, drug addicts, and literally unwitting subjects. A lot of the documentation surrounding the program conveniently went missing – so you guys tell me…was that just because the government didn’t want all of the terrible shit they had done to get out? Or…*puts on tinfoil hat* did they not want the public to know just how capable they were of mass mind control? Believe it or not by reading that last paragraph, this is another fun one.
