The Tennessee Titans are red hot right now, winning five games in a row and holding onto the #1 slot in the AFC playoff standings at 7-2 in the process. They’re navigating the toughest part of their schedule, and so far, they’re 4-0 during this stretch. They’ll look to continue that streak against a 5-3 New Orleans Saints squad that is square in the thick of the NFC playoff hunt. They’re currently the sixth seed thanks to a strong running game and a stout defensive front. But, they have some major questions coming into this game – is their bell cow Alvin Kamara going to play? How confident are they in their passing game with former Titan Trevor Siemian at quarterback? This is not as talented a team as the Titans played on Sunday night, but it’s one capable of punching them in the mouth if they aren’t ready for it. The Titans are currently favored by three with a point total set at over/under 44.5.
Titans Keys to Victory: vs. Saints, 11/12/21
*If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it – There’s absolutely no reason to change things up on defense this week against an inferior quarterback to the one they just faced on Sunday Night Football. This team can win this game with its defensive line. So, if they can continue to generate a rush with just four guys and disguise their coverages behind it, they’ll be just fine.
*SEND IT – In the three games the Saints have lost this season, they’ve been susceptible to strong passing performances. When allowing a quarterback to throw for 300+ yards, they’re 0-3. When allowing a quarterback to throw for less than 300 yards, they’re 5-0. Obviously, you don’t want to change up what’s been successful on offense so far in the season, but I think it should be a priority to take some deep shots in this game to back that fierce Saints front off and open up the playbook. Pass protection, which has been inconsistent this season, is going to be huge in generating big plays too…which brings me to my third key to victory…
*Bobby Hart – Put anyone other than Bobby Hart at left tackle. I don’t care if you wheel Taylor Lewan out there in a wheelchair. I don’t care if Mike Vrabel has to suit up and play left tackle himself. Hell, bring the guy from Psych or the kid from Outer Banks out of the stands to play left tackle. ANYONE. BUT. BOBBY. HART. Blessings and have a good weekend, folks.
