The SoBros Mailbag #183: The Final Mailbag for 2021

For the final time this year, the SoBros Mailbag is here!

Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question:

Answer:

I think I’d be good old fashioned chicken noodle soup – some people might call that bland. I’d call it ‘classic.’ Not to mention, chicken noodle soup is a hearty soup, and I am a hearty man. I would like to be able to heal the sick too while I’m at it. Good for the soul, y’know?

Question:

Answer:

I would definitely be in tears. I’m a big old baby that cries at pretty sunsets anyway – I’ll be virtually inconsolable if the Titans win the Super Bowl. And, yes – there will be nudity. Dicks out for the Titans – WE’RE GOING STREAKING!

Question:

Answer:

Give me a solid combination of cheddar and gouda, first things first. Then we’re going to add some bacon, some fried green tomatoes, and drizzle the whole thing with sriracha and smother it in garlic butter. I’m a simple man – that’s all it takes for me.

Man, I kind of want to fight every motherfucker from That 70s Show. What an obnoxious group of people.

Question:

Answer:

Well, E – let me pull up the ol’ 2022 goal sheet…ah yes…I have 125 things listed to do in 2022. *chuckles* *squints* There’s some big behind-the-scenes business stuff that I probably shouldn’t just put out on the open internet that we have to do. As for my personal content goals, I really want to get my short stories into physical book form (probably be banging on your door for help with that one). I want to get in at least one content trip during which we pile in a few SoBros with our gear and head to some remote location to make some shit. We haven’t done that since 2019! Similarly, I want to get the SoBros Shop and the Nerd Shop out on the road to sell some stuff. Other than that, I want to keep pushing our podcast train, as it’s beginning to take off a bit. Most importantly and most simply, I want to keep making content that I believe in while upholding the core values for SoBros Network.

I also posed this question to the larger team. Here are the replies I got:

  • “Hopefully seeing the SoBros gang at some point, getting married, and scoping out a new home.” -Rooster
  • “Get credentials for more festivals and events, keep growing Drinking With…, and most importantly, finish well above .500 next year in Tank the 401k.” -Steven McCash
  • “I’d like to cover a handful of Motorsport events in person for 2022.” -Cadbury

Question, from Olivia on Instagram:

This might be a better question for Brandon, but what movie has the best soundtrack?

Answer:

I did pose this question to Brandon, to which he replied: “That’s easy…the Ray soundtrack! It’s basically a Ray Charles album lol”

As for my answer, I’m going with Guardians of the Galaxy – such a fun blend of classic tunes that helped create a vibe for what was a really fun movie.

Question, from Tyler on Facebook:

No question this week. Just have a great holiday season you guys and keep up the good work.

Answer:

Thank you, Tyler – always appreciate you, and everyone else who helps to make the SoBros Mailbag what it is year in and year out. Can’t wait to hit the ground running in 2022.

Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
