This week, I’m taking a look back at some of our best episodes on each of the SoBros Network podcasts. On this final look back of the year, we’re diving into the best of the best on The SoBros Power Hour in 2021. It’s been a hell of a year for the rough and rowdy Power Hour – we tweaked up the format this year to include more SoBros, more guests, and an entirely new sub-podcast titled the Nashville Creator Series (that will probably end up getting its own RSS feed in 2022), on which I interview Nashville-area creators about their stories. Some of these episodes might not be relevant anymore – I mean, this show is technically a news podcast so once the cycle is over, I wonder how interesting the shows still are. But, we had plenty of fun on this show this year, and at the very least, that’s worth reliving. Let’s dive in.

The Best of the SoBros Power Hour, 2021

Ep. 34: Don’t Try Nashville Hot Chicken Outside of Nashville (link) – Would you rather live in space or on the ocean floor? These are the hard-hitting questions you’re going to get answered on the SoBros Power Hour. This was Brittany’s first time on the SoBros Power Hour, and we talked about a whole bunch of bullshit from Piggly Wiggly to Nashville hot chicken.

Ep. 35: Don’t Join a Cult this Weekend (link) – I don’t even care what else we talked about, when Rooster and I found out that we had our very own cult right in our backyard (kind of – Williamson County), I could not stop thinking about it. There’s no one more fun to go down a rabbit hole with than Rooster either.

Ep. 41: Has New Nashville Passed Us By? (link) – This episode kind of made me feel like Cadbury and I were old men…but hey, at least we got to talk about that viral clip of that dude yeeting a live bobcat.

Ep. 44: MCU Talk with Michael Gilliam of Football & Other F Words (link) – There’s no better person to talk to on the Nashville show about the MCU than one of the greatest Titans podcasters in the game. That’s clearly tongue-in-cheek, but this was the first SoBros-FWords crossover show of the year, and it was a downright hoot.

Ep. 51: More MCU Talk with Titans Podcasters (link) – I had a blast completing the Football & Other F Words circle by having Zach Lyons on to talk MCU and a whole gaggle of nonsense.

Ep. 52: Emissions Testing, Alcoholic Theme Parks, PSLs vs. DSLs (link) – This one….this one was just all over the place. FFS, just read the show description: “We got an all-over-the-place episode of the SoBros Power Hour with Stoney, Cad, and Steven on deck for you this week, on which the gang talks about football season and fall approaching, PSLs, DSLs, Grand Old Golf, the milk crate challenge, emissions testing in Tennessee, Nashville being an “alcoholic theme park,” Music City GP coming back, Mooby’s, and MUCH MUCH MORE.”

Nashville Creator Series, Ep. 01: E Young (link) – No better way for me to kick off this brand new project than with one of my close friends and, in my opinion, one of the best writers in Nashville.

Ep. 54: The 2021 Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival (link) – Steven McCash was invited to this year’s Pilgrimage Festival as a credentialed member of the press – this is his account of the fun two days he spent out and about, catching in all of the shows.

Nashville Creator Series, Ep. 02: Blame Your Brother (link) – Sitting down with David from Blame Your Brother, one of the best and longest-running podcasts in Nashville, was an absolutely pleasure. We got to talk about the early days of the podcasting game, how Blame Your Brother got started, and much more.

Ep. 55: Halloween in Nashville, Wartime Ghost Stories (link) – I’m always a fan of ghost stories and war stories. To combine the two for a festive Halloween episode with Cadbury was just gravy.
