Championship Sunday is upon us! For my money, it’s the best football day of the year. It’s like football Thanksgiving – you get all the festivities of championship football, but there’s still “the big one” to look forward to. I love it. After a historically good Divisional Round…hell, I dare say maybe the greatest Divisional Round of all time, we’re set up for another solid slate of Sunday games. Up first, we’re talking about the red hot upstart Cincinnati Bengals heading to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the two-time defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Let’s get to it. It’s my 2021 AFC Championship Drinking Game!
The Chiefs are currently favored by 7.5 points, with a point total set at over/under 54.5. This one’s hard to read. Both teams had exhausting contests a week ago, and in situations such as these, I tend to lean towards experience. No one left in the playoffs has more postseason experience than the Chiefs. Both of these teams have shown a propensity for putting points on the board, so don’t be surprised to see this one turn into a shootout.

TAKE A DRINK IF/WHEN…
- We get the highlights of these two teams meeting in Week 17.
- Either team registers a sack or a takeaway.
- The lead changes.
- Someone mentions this is the 4th straight AFC Championship for the Chiefs.
- The Bengals are referred to as “underdogs.”
- Eric Bienemy is discussed as a “head coaching candidate.”
- Anyone says “31 years.”
- Ja’Marr catches a pass. Take another drink if they talk about how no one thought he could catch during the preseason.
- Travis Kelce catches a pass.
- Joe Burrow amasses 50 yards passing – yes, drink for every 50 yards passing he amasses.
- Tyreek Hill amasses 10 yards rushing or receiving – yes, drink for every 10 yards rushing or receiving he amasses.
- Patrick Mahomes has a rushing attempt.
- Anyone talks about Joe Burrow smoking cigars.
- Tee Higgins amasses 10 yards rushing or receiving – yes, drink for every 10 yards rushing or receiving he amasses.
- The Bengals run Chase on a jet sweep.
- Someone mentions that Burrow was sacked nine times by the Tennessee Titans a week ago.
TAKE A SHOT IF/WHEN…
- This game hits the over.
- Tyreek Hill throws up the deuces at someone. Take another shot if someone throws them back at him.
- Joe Burrow scores a rushing touchdown.
- The Chiefs get a defensive/special teams touchdown.
- Joe Burrow actually smokes a cigar on the field.
- Jackson Mahomes does a Tik Tok dance on the field.
