Some of you might not know this about me, but I cannot actually see the future. I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow when the Cincinnati Bengals take the field in Nashville to attempt to knock off our beloved #1 seed Tennessee Titans. I watched some games that the Bengals played this season against teams that are built similarly to the Titans. The Bengals are 1-3 in those games, and the things those defenses did to stifle the Bengals are things that the Titans look able to replicate. If they play to the full extent of their capability, they should absolutely win this game. But, you just never know.
It’s the NFL playoffs and Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase could get that bigswingindick energy going and the next thing you know, the Titans are chasing ’em. I just can’t stand the nerves. That’s what it is. You might ask why I feel nervous! “Stoney, you’re just a shitty sports blogger and podcaster – your fat ass is going to be drinking gin on the couch…”
I think I got too dark with that last little bit of insight. Just trying to hammer the point home. I will not be on the field in two-tone blue on Saturday….you are right about that. But, this is still “my team” and this is still a massive game. Titans fans have waited a long time for a team like this, and it always amplifies the anxiety.
Anyway, I’ve been doing push-ups and listening to Pantera and Three 6 Mafia…screaming at the walls all day. If you cut me open right now, I would bleed creatine, nicotine, and Mountain Dew. I am absolutely fired up and ready for this game, as you should be too.
