Josh Herrin looks to impress Ducati bosses and fans alike by winning the 80th running of the Daytona 200, and he’ll have the best opportunity after snatching pole position from Sheridan Morais in the final moments of qualifying with a fast lap of 1:50.088, a mere .010 seconds ahead of Morais.
Herrin and Morais will be joined on the front row by Attack Racing Yamaha’s Jake Gagne who managed a lap time of 1:50.405. They’ll be followed closely by last year’s winner, Brandon Paasch, who is looking to make some quick moves from second row of the grid on the TOBC Racing Triumph.
Richie Escalante, Cam Peterson, and Danny Eslick round out the top 7 fastest riders. Josh Hayes’s hopes looked promising until a technical infraction has him starting the race from last on the grid in 43rd.
