It’s officially Pro Day season as we are on the road to the 2022 NFL Draft! On Tuesday, the scouting community set its sights on Los Angeles as the UCLA Bruins held court. One of the most exciting tight end prospects in this draft class, Greg Dulcich, took the field shirtless and in some skimpy shorts to run some routes and show everyone just what he’s made of. Since when did pro days turn into episodes of Baywatch? Did I miss something or was Dulcich using this opportunity to audition for both the NFL and a potential modeling career?

I’ll have to file this under clips I can never show my fiancé, but I’ll be damned if that man doesn’t look like a show pony galloping down the field. All kidding aside, Dulcich is a physical specimen and an explosive play-maker. Whenever Steven McCash and I went down to Mobile to cover the 2022 Senior Bowl, I went with the intention of keeping an eye on the tight ends, as I felt at the time it was the biggest position of need for the Titans (after parting ways with Julio Jones, I’d say that’s ‘wide receiver’ now). I was watching Trey McBride and Isaiah Likely, but this Dulcich guy just kept standing out to me.
Full transparency here – he leaves a lot to be desired in terms of blocking, but this man just might be the most explosive tight end in the draft class from a pure vertical threat perspective. He can change direction on a dime. He’s fluid in how he runs his routes. He can track the ball with accuracy in the air. He can find open spots, and as you can see, he’s big and strong enough to win at the point of the catch and make a little magic happen after the catch. I have some more tight ends to watch at the time of this writing, but if you want to call Dulcich TE2 in this draft, I’m not going to stop you. He has the potential to be a bona fide deep threat play-maker at the position in the NFL. If the Titans could snag him in the third round, that would be a downright steal (assuming they add a more complete tight end in free agency/the draft to round out that room).
Texted with @UCLAFootball TE Greg Dulcich, who has crushed the pre-draft process, after his pro-day. He had a bunch of meetings with TE coaches yesterday and they all said something to the effect, “I hope we draft you”.
