Alright, guys – this one’s simple. The first round of the NFL Draft is far too unpredictable, and that’s why I HATE when people mock trades in their mock drafts. Who really knows? No one! So, that’s why I don’t do it. You won’t find trades in my mock drafts on SoBros Network. But, for you guys, I thought, “hey – why don’t we have a little fun?” That’s what we’re all about here on SoBros Network. So, give me my big board and the keys to the castle for each NFL team and let’s roll. I’m going to get a little wild and play GM here tonight. I’m going to say what I would do – not what the analysts say should happen.
MY BAT SH*T CRAZY 2022 NFL MOCK DRAFT
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Kyle Hamilton – Like I said, this is what I would do here. Personally, I think the Jags are a little underrated in terms of their defensive front. I don’t think they need the help up front the way they could use a centerpiece in the defensive back field. I know safeties don’t go #1, but I think Hamilton could be the best player in this draft.
- Detroit Lions: Kayvon Thibodeaux – The Lions pass rush needs some teeth, and believe it or not, I like Thibodeaux better than Hutchinson and Walker.
- Houston Texans: Derek Stingley Jr. – With Hamilton off the board, go get the corner with the highest upside here.
- New York Jets: Sauce Gardner – The Jets need their true #1 corner. I think they’d be happy to settle for Gardner with Stingley off the board.
- New York Giants: Charles Cross – Rumor has it that the Giants worked Cross out at right tackle and were satisfied with his performance. He’s the best pass protector in this class, and that will serve well in Brian Daboll’s high pass volume offense. I’m sprinting to the podium if I’m the Giants and Cross is available.
- Carolina Panthers: Ikem Ekwonu – The Panthers will rush to the podium to get the road-grading Ekwonu. Mfs just BOUNCE off this dude.
- New York Giants: Malik Willis – Yeah, this may come as a surprise, but I think the Giants have the luxury of being able to roll the dice on a supremely talented quarterback prospect with their 2nd pick in case Daniel Jones doesn’t work out. I would trust Daboll to get the most out of Willis’ skill set.
- Atlanta Falcons: Evan Neal – Everyone’s just assuming that the Falcons are going to go receiver here, but I think they’d be doing cartwheels if one of these three tackles is available.
- Seattle Seahawks: Aidan Hutchinson – The Seahawks need immediate impact in the pass rush, and I can’t see Hutchinson sliding this far.
- New York Jets: Treylon Burks – Burks is my WR1. I think Jameson Williams could be the best receiver to come out of this class, but the Jets need someone who can make an immediate impact…not someone who might not play until December.
- Washington Commanders: Tyler Linderbaum – Too high for a center? Maybe, but I love me some Tyler Linderbaum. He is the best interior offensive lineman in this draft class.
- Minnesota Vikings: Andrew Booth, Jr. – The Vikings need cornerback help and in my opinion, Booth is just as viable as Gardner and Stingley in this class.
- *TRADE* Pittsburgh Steelers: Matt Corral – I told you we were going to get bat shit crazy, didn’t I?! The Steelers have to get their quarterback of the future. Corral is my QB1, so at this point in the first round, when moving up to get your guy is more doable, the Steelers can’t afford to risk someone leap frogging them for the best quarterback in the draft.
- Baltimore Ravens: Kenyon Green – The Ravens need offensive line help, and Green is one of my favorite prospects in this class. Hard pass on Trevor Penning here.
- Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Davis – Pure talent that enables the Eagles to start thinking about life after Fletcher Cox.
- New Orleans Saints: Sam Howell – Again…what I would do…I’m not as high on Pickett as others. If I’m the Saints, I get the best touch passer in the draft class and let him compete with Jameis Winston.
- Los Angeles Chargers: Travon Walker – The Chargers need offensive line help, but I wouldn’t reach for one of the guys who are available. Give me a cornerstone defensive piece with pass rush potential.
- Philadelphia Eagles: Jameson Williams – The Eagles need a receiver and Williams could be the cream of the crop when it’s all said and done.
- New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave – If I’m a Saints fan, I’m absolutely salivating at the prospects of what Olave would bring to this passing game.
- *TRADE* Houston Texans: Drake London – The Texans add their future #1 at #20.
- New England Patriots: Garrett Wilson – The Pats seemingly don’t like drafting receivers in Round 1. Thankfully for them, I am in charge here.
- *TRADE* Seattle Seahawks: Kenny Pickett – With this run on receivers, the Packers lose interest in staying at #22 and pick up more picks from the Seahawks, who grab their signal-caller of the future.
- Arizona Cardinals: Jermaine Johnson – The Cardinals absolutely luck into Johnson in this scenario. They need pass rush help badly.
- Dallas Cowboys: Trevor Penning – It’s time for the Cowboys to start tweaking and re-tooling that once-vaunted offensive line.
- Buffalo Bills: Roger McCreary – This might come as a shock, but I’m super high on the battle-tested McCreary and think he could sneak into the back few picks of the first round. The Bills need a stud corner.
- Tennessee Titans: Desmond Ridder – If you think the quarterback who can carry you for life after Tannehill is in this draft, go get him. Personally, I think Ridder is their guy.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Travis Jones – Strength on strength. The Bucs fortify their defensive front with one of the best penetrators in this draft class.
- Green Bay Packers: Jahan Dotson – Hey, what do you know? The Packers deal their first first round pick, and the way my big board fell, they still end up with the wide receiver that feels tailor made for this Packers offense.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Jalen Tolbert – I’m not touching Christian Watson with a ten foot pole in the first round. Give me Tolbert as the sneaky, physical option in the receiving game.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Daxton Hill – I think the Chiefs would be ecstatic to land Hill here, who is one of if not the best hybrid cornerback/safety combinations in this draft.
- Cincinnati Bengals: Trey McBride – Most folks don’t have a first round grade on McBride, but I love what he brings to the table. He can be used in a myriad of ways and would serve as a direct replacement for CJ Uzomah.
- Detroit Lions: Skyy Moore – There are receivers I like better than Moore, but if I’m looking at what the Lions need in their receiving corps, it’s a good all-around option, and Moore fits the bill.
