The 2022 NFL Draft takes place April 28-30 this year, emanating LIVE from Las Vegas, Nevada. As it stands, the Tennessee Titans have one first round draft pick. General manager Jon Robinson and head coach Mike Vrabel currently hold the 26th overall selection. Over the next few months, your boy “Big Natural” Stoney Keeley will be taking a look at some of the prospects who are either rumored to be tied to, have met with, or who make sense for the Titans. Today, we’re lookin’ at Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green.

We’ve taken a look at an awful lot of wide receivers and an awful lot of offensive line prospects on Titans First Round Options so far, and I hate to go to the well yet again, but it really seems to me like if the Titans aren’t going quarterback in Round 1, the pick is going to be one of these two positions. That’s why I want to make sure I get in all the contenders I can for that spot at #26. Take your pick of positions along the offensive line, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see a lineman taken at it. They need a starter and a plan for the future at right tackle. They need competition at left guard. If they’re going to move on from Taylor Lewan and/or Ben Jones in the near future, they need a contingency plan there. That’s why I think a versatile guy like Green could be in the fold.

Green enters the NFL after an accomplished career with the Aggies. He is a two-time All-American (2020, 2021), and was voted 1st team All-SEC in 2021; 2nd team All-SEC in 2020. He was a five-star recruit that came in and played right away, earning All-Freshman honors in the SEC in the process. The name of his game is versatility – Green has experience at guard and tackle, and can play on either side of the line. He looks best suited to play guard in the NFL, but he could be a project at right tackle for the Titans.

Green is a punisher and a finisher regardless of where he lines up. He’s got the bend and the balance that equates to solid leverage, and he uses it as a weapon against whoever lines up opposite him. He is a dude-mover, for sure, and that power is immediately what pops when you watch him play. Green steamrolls guys, and he’s the type of player who simply will not let up until the ref blows the whistle. That gives him road grading potential in the run game in the NFL. In pass protection, he’s got solid movement ability, with the power to just plant his stake in the ground and keep you from getting to the quarterback. He does well to identify and address stunts from the defensive line. I honestly have trouble finding any overly concerning weaknesses in his game. As far as draft stock goes, Green reminds me of…like…the Trevor Lawrence/Andrew Luck of guards. Just can’t miss!

It just so happens the Titans are set to meet with Green. It makes sense since they have pressing needs at left guard and right tackle. Given Green played a lot of left guard in 2020 before the Aggies moved him all over the line in 2021, he’s got the pedigree to compete for that spot right away. I’d say that would be his ideal fit with the team. But, he’s capable of playing right tackle, and really, could be an effective swing guy to play anything but center in a pinch. I certainly wouldn’t hate the Titans taking him at #26.
