Free Agent Wide Receiver Targets for the Tennessee Titans

Stoney Keeley lists a few receivers who make sense for the Tennessee Titans and are still on the market.

Are the Tennessee Titans done overhauling their wide receiving corps? I’d be willing to bet not since the distinguished Voice of the Tennessee Titans, Mike Keith, posited that they might not yet be done adding depth in the receiving room. Really, it makes a lot of sense. The initial wave of free agency came and went for the Titans, and we saw them trade for Robert Woods in a splash move. And, even though they drafted two receivers in this year’s draft (Treylon Burks and Kyle Philips), they traded away AJ Brown, leaving an awful lot of question marks surrounding this year’s unit. That gets us to this second wave of free agency, where we can see who is left over, and what the Titans roster looks like.

Wide receivers that are currently on the Titans roster include: Burks, Dez Fitzpatrick, Cody Hollister, Mason Kinsey, Josh Malone, Racey McMath, Philips, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Woods. I’ll admit – that’s a better looking group than we’ve seen from the Titans of yesteryear, and it’s a group that is loaded with youth and potential. Woods is the veteran of the group, with 10 years in the NFL. The rest of the group has 13 years’ experience combined. So, there’s definitely room for more veteran experience, savvy, and leadership among this group. There’s also a plethora of big names still out there on the market for the Titans to choose from, though I don’t think they all still have their fastball, nor do I think all of them provide a skill set that would fortify the Titans receiving group. Here are a few guys that I do like for the Titans, in the event that you care about this particular Titans writer’s opinions.

Free Agent Wide Receiver Targets for the Tennessee Titans

Odell Beckham, Jr. – To me, Beckham is the only guy left on the market that has true WR2 potential should Woods not pan out the way we all think that he will. He was a credible and dynamic threat in the red zone for the Rams in 2021, and could be used similarly in Nashville.

Keelan Cole – I always thought Cole was a bit of an underrated deep threat and wondered why he just couldn’t seem to put it all together after that promising rookie season in 2017. He didn’t miss a game from 2017-20, and with five years under his belt, he’s still in that sweet spot between ‘veteran presence’ and ‘plenty left in the tank.’ Why not?

Will Fuller – Fuller has some legitimate injury concerns. He’s yet to play a full season since entering the league in 2016. But man, as far as pure deep threats go, that has always been his strong suit. He is a long touchdown waiting to happen. Luckily for him, a spot with the Titans likely wouldn’t require that he’s on the field for all 17 games. *shrugs*

Albert Wilson – I don’t see an awful lot of teams clamoring for Wilson’s services after he had arguably the worst season of his career in 2021 (and I damn sure don’t see Titans Twitter saying his name), but hell, I’d roll the dice on his shiftiness, athleticism, and experience as the fourth or fifth guy in this receiving rotation.

I also think it’s entirely possible that the Titans wait out the summer to see who is cut from which camp and becomes available. We’ll see.
