From the features to the documentaries and the entire festival experience as a whole, the Atlanta Film Festival always seems to get it right. We’ve been covering this one since 2019, and it’s one of our favorites for a reason. It’s always a seamless process to get in and find the year’s selection of films, and from what our resident film critic, Brandon Vick, has said, they pick some gnarly venues for an awesome in-person experience (hopefully I’ll get to go next year *fingers crossed*). So, as we’ve done each year we’ve covered this banger of a festival, Brandon and I decided to hop on the mics and talk in detail about the flicks we watched as apart of this years festivities.
My viewing schedule overlapped with Brandon’s on three movies, so we focused on those – from the loose dark comedy The Murder Podcast to the enlightening, sobering, and inspiring Master of Light to the slow burning tension of Breakwater. We take a deep dive into each movie. From there, I share my thoughts on The Balcony Movie and Brandon chimes in with his thoughts on more of the movies he saw. It’s a doozy of a show.
