Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the spring/summer fragrance, White Gardenia.

I’m calling this one a spring/summer fragrance because it has a little bit of the floral signature that makes a good spring scent, while also carrying some of the ‘freshness’ that comes along with a good summer scent. It is absolutely perfect for this time of year.

But, White Gardenia does come with fair warning – this does smell a little bit like an old lady candle. I like a good old lady candle in certain situations. I’ll burn old lady candles on lazy Sunday afternoons because it reminds me of visiting my Granny as a kid, and traveling out to Smithville or Murfreesboro and just forgetting the outside world existed for a little bit. This was before the internet, so I always had to get creative to entertainment myself. Those were peaceful days, and yet, days that allowed me to let me imagination run wild all the same.

I’ll also burn old lady candles in the bathroom because they’re safe. There’s a reason old ladies have been burning old lady candles long enough to become old ladies. They’re usually the staples. You can put ’em in the bathroom, and they’re not going to offend anyone more than the smell of the turds in the torlet. All in all, White Gardenia was a pleasant surprise that features the best parts of spring scents with the best part of the not-beacy-or-fruity summer scents as well.

Recommended burning: White Gardenia makes for the perfect small jar (or “bathroom jar” as I call ’em), just be sure to light it before your guests come over to avoid any smelly dumps they may take to permeate throughout the household.
