Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question, from Aura in person:
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
Answer:
With all of the hectic activity leading up to it, it really did fly by like everyone said it would. I remember a moment when we were eating, when I just wanted to take a moment to let it all soak in (as so many of our friends and family advised us to do). I looked at the crowd of people and just thought “this is nuts – these people are all here for us.” After that, the gin started pouring and with the pressure of the event itself off of our shoulders, we really got to enjoy the evening with our loved ones. I’d say that reception was it for me.
Question:
What movie from the 1980s deserves a sequel?
— brett (@thebrettclark) June 2, 2022
Answer:
Gut reaction was Beetlejuice, but it seems like I heard they were planning a sequel for it on social media not too long ago…a quick Google search, and lo and behold, they ARE working on a sequel, and it’s rumored that Johnny Depp’s going to be in it. So, that’s cool – instead, I’m going to say The Goonies. Let’s get a more grown-up adventure in there.
Question, from Wes on Instagram:
How does it feel, you and all your buddies getting married last month. You feel grown up and shit?
Answer:
Y’know…I didn’t think it would feel different. Why would it? I’ve been with Aura for 11 years now. There’s a certain comfort in that…but things do kind of feel different now. It makes me feel older. Most folks have just a handful of milestone moments within their lifetimes, and ‘getting married’ is usually one of ’em. In a way, it does feel like I’ve checked another box and am inching closer to death. One foot in the grave and what have you. This got really depressing.
Question, from Brittany on Instagram:
Favorite Stranger Things character?
Answer:
I’ve always been a Hopper fan, but hot damn – Eddie Munson hit the screen like a fucking supernova in Season Four. I was immediately drawn to the character…he’s sharp and witty, but he absolutely thrives in the outcast spot. I would’ve been playing D&D with this dude in high school, too.
Question:
With your latest article on the TT in mind, what does Stoney think of motorcycle racing and is he excited to watch the TT this year?
— Dom “Warm Beer” Oxenham-Morris (@doxom85) June 3, 2022
Answer:
I’m absolutely stoked to watch this race – I don’t know anything about it, but I am fascinated by the psychology of it. You have to be wired differently to sign up to do this thing, and I have nothing but respect for the folks who do. I have sources reporting that there may be some special coverage of the race here on SoBros Network, but we’ll have to see how the weather holds up. *eyeball emoji*
