Titans at Eagles: Week 13 Spread & DFS Gambling Preview (2022)

Introduction

The Eagles (10-1) have the NFL’s best record and are the heavy favorites to win the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Their only loss came at home against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. They’ve recovered with two straight wins.

The Titans (7-4) are coming off a 20-16 home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite that, Tennessee has won seven of their last nine games with one of those losses coming when they started a backup quarterback against potential MVP Patrick Mahomes. 2022 first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks has helped rejuvenate a lifeless passing offense. In his last two games, Burks has 11 receptions for 181 yards and 51-yard catches in each of those games.

Key Injuries

NFL Injury Report

  • Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis opened his 21-day practice window. Davis has been on the injured reserve because of a high ankle sprain that he suffered on Oct. 30. He’s questionable for Sun. The Eagles could really use his size to help defend against Tennessee’s ground game.

Titans at Eagles: Best Bet, DFS Picks

Titans +5.5 at -115

Tennessee has covered a 5.5-point spread in 10 of 11 games. I’d go down to -4, maybe even -3.5 with it. They may not win but they’re a well-coached team who’ll almost always play a competitive game.

A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith

This is a revenge game for a wide receiver who was vocally upset about how the Titans handled his contract disputes before he was traded this offseason. When you compare his $7,800 DraftKings price tag with other wide receivers in his price range, his fantasy points per game (16.6) are much lower than anyone else within that price range. This tells me that he’s either severely overpriced or he’s due for a huge game.

Need a contrarian play? While Brown will have very high ownership, Smith is another wide receiver who should have a positive matchup. Similar to Brown, Smith’s 12.4 fantasy points per game are pretty low for his $6,200 price tag.

Derrick Henry

There’s a potential matchup nightmare with Philadelphia’s undersized front seven trying to contain the 6-foot-3, 247-pound running back. Philadelphia ranks among the NFL’s best passing defenses but worst run defenses. Tennessee doesn’t have the wide receivers to post much threat against Eagles cornerbacks Darius Slay and James Bradberry. As Tennessee’s defense should keep this competitive, Henry is guaranteed to have another huge workload.

Titans at Eagles: Final Thoughts (Keys to Victory)

The Eagles have a more complete team because of their offensive playmakers at wide receiver and quarterback; however, Tennessee has the ability to exploit Philadelphia’s biggest weakness. While I’d guess that Philadelphia would win this game 55/100, maybe 6/10 times, I love the 5.5-point spread. Philadelphia’s lack of tight end (Dallas Goedert is injured) should help Tennessee safeties focus more on either Brown or the ground game.

Keep on eye on the injury report because Jordan Davis would make a huge difference here.
