Nashville Twitter was blowing up yesterday with the news that the famous California burger chain, In-N-Out Burger, would be calling Nashville home soon. According to Governor Bill Lee, they’re set to build a corporate hub out here. Now, I get that an awful lot of folks are gushing over this news. Regretfully, I can’t provide commentary on it. The only time I came close to trying it was during my time out in San Francisco. There were a couple out there – some co-workers were going to introduce me to it, but both of the ones we visited had lines wrapped around the building. As a man that absolutely hates waiting AND lines, it was a hard pass from me. I ended up at some local burger joint that was awesome.

First of all, I love that we have our slack-jawed cornball hickspeak ass governor out here breaking this news. He won’t publicly take a stand for our teachers, but he’s happy to get on the Twitter machine and tell y’all about the new fast food burger joint coming to town!
Second of all, do we know for sure we’re going to have an In-N-Out Burger in Nashville that we can like…y’know…go eat at? Did he not just say a corporate hub? I mean, sure – in all likelihood, that would indicate a larger expansion into the southeast. And from there, we can deduce that there will likely be restaurant locations popping up throughout the area. But, I don’t know – sounds like we might be getting excited just for them to build a big office somewhere. Do they serve In-N-Out Burger in their corporate offices? I hope so.
Nonetheless, y’all can be excited about this all you want, but I refuse to be. It’s out of principle. I won’t go. I have better things to do with my time than sit in line for anything. I just recently went to the new Whataburger in town for the first time because I waited for the lines to die down. And, that’s Whataburger! No. Hell no. You guys can have this, but I couldn’t care less. I’m only sharing this news with you guys because I am a journalist of the utmost integrity and only cover the most important stories in Nashville.
By the way, the burger scene in Nashville is just fine – I actually think our fair city is quite the underrated burger town. Between Brown’s Diner, Dino’s, The Pharmacy, M.L. Rose, Hugh-Baby’s, and of course, Shake Shack, there’s no shortage of places around to get a good ‘en.
