Two years after The Father came out and yielded a ‘Best Actor’ award for Anthony Hopkins at the Oscars (along with a ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ win to boot), Florian Zeller is back with The Son, a prequel to the 2020 effort that brought home two Academy Award wins. On our most recent episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast, our very own resident film critic, Brandon Vick, hopped on the microphone to give his detailed thoughts on The Son.

Here’s the synopsis, courtesy of IMDB: “Peter has his busy life with new partner Beth and their baby thrown into disarray when his ex-wife Kate turns up with their teenage son, Nicholas.” With 125 reviews, this joint is sitting at a 27% score on the Tomatometer. OOF!

The Son is still playing in Nashville area theaters this week – Regal Streets of Indian Lake, Regal Green Hills, AMC CLASSIC Murfreesboro 16, AMC DINE-IN Thoroughbred 20.
