I was staring down the barrel of a loaded schedule last week, so I had to work in a new Power Hour whenever I had the free chance to do so. Hence the reason I’m flying solo on our most recent episode. Nonetheless, I like to think we have a good time on this show, and Friday’s episode was no different. I wanted to get it in so I could do a little free advertising for the lawn and garden show that was going down at the Nashville Fairgrounds over the weekend. That’s when you know you’re getting old – when you start getting fucking pumped about lawn and garden shows. Alas, I didn’t even go! We canceled plans because we had the chance to have a free weekend for the first time in awhile. We simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to not leave the house for two days.
Anyway, I didn’t just ramble about the lawn and garden show for an hour. There was plenty to talk about. Namely, it’s spring time in Nashville! I pass along some advice as to how to handle the season, and I list my favorite patios out here East of town. I talked about a potential riverwalk here in Nashville. The Watertown mile-long yard sale is coming up, and since we’re officially going to have a booth selling stuff, figured I had to talk about that. I gave my review of Cocaine Bear, and pleaded with people to get really drunk and go see it with a group of friends. And, since Dawes was playing the Ryman on Saturday night, I took the opportunity to try and read the lyrics to “A Little Bit of Everything” without crying and I failed miserably.
