The Nashville Scene’s Burger Week Looks Loaded This Year

The Nashville Scene's Burger Week returns July 10-16 with $7 burgers at participating restaurants. LFG.

Big fan of the Nashville Scene’s various food weeks – hot chicken week, taco week, and of course, the week we’re here to talk about today, burger week. It is a time to rejoice, Nashville. It is a time to celebrate. It is a time to throw your diet and overall general health out the window, because Burger Week is BACK! Via the Nashville Scene, Burger Week is going down July 10-16, when participating restaurants are going to be offering up burgers for just $7…that’s practically free given what food is usually going for in this city these days. Nonetheless, it’s time to get our game faces on and start mapping out when and where we’re going. It might be worth taking vacation time to try and fit it all in. Actually, this year’s offerings look so vast and voluminous that if you were somehow able to cram them all into a single week, you’d probably look like that AI rendering of what remote workers are going to look like by 2100. Seriously, this might come as a surprise, but I don’t actually remember every burger that Burger Week has ever promoted, but it feels like there are twice as many participating restaurants as there usually are. So, let’s dig into this thing, starting with burgers from places I’ve never been to that caught my attention.

  • Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer“Prime burger with Jack Daniel’s red pepper jam, diced pickles, Dirty’s sweet potato chips, white BBQ sauce and chopped parsley.”
  • Flat Tire Diner “6oz. Angus beef patty with pepper jack cheese, tortilla chips, diner made queso and pico de gallo on a fresh baked jalapeño cheddar bun.”
  • Hoss’s Loaded Burgers – “Burger stuffed with Swiss cheese, topped with Russian sauce, sauerkraut and fried pastrami on a rye bun.”
  • The Nashville Grange “Lamb burger topped with feta, tzatziki, mint and parsley salad and castelvetrano olives, served in a pita pocket.”
  • Smokin’ Thighs“Hand pattied 1/3 lb. ground chicken burger topped with provolone, pineapple, kickin slaw and teriyaki, served on delicious Texas Toast with a side of lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle! It’s the perfect summer-time burger, best enjoyed on the patio.”

There are also currently 10 restaurants whose Burger Week special has yet to be announced. This year’s festivities are making me feel like I’m too far out of the scene now. My wife and I moved out to Mount Juliet in 2021, and we’ve barely gone downtown since. So, I’m now unfortunately an old head and haven’t heard of some of these places. I guess I need to sharpen up my burger game in town. That doesn’t mean I haven’t dined at any of the participating restaurants, though – here are a few I’ll vouch for before I get on out of here and give you the rest of your day back.

  • Brown’s Diner – It’s Brown’s and Dino’s when it comes down to the best burger in this city, in my opinion. They’re not doing the classic for Burger Week, but the turkey burger they’ve cooked up sounds pretty damn tempting.
  • Drake’s – If you’re out and about in Cool Springs, a burger at Drake’s is one of the best lunch/dinner options. Personally, I have found that it’s the perfect spot to get some food before a movie. Anyway, they’re doing a themed burger constructed with foods that start with the letter ‘b’ – brie, bacon, and blueberry-bourbon barbecue sauce. Count me in.
  • Burger Republic – Always pretty reliable when it comes to quality, and always creative. I had a burger with corned beef on it for St. Patrick’s Day one year that I’ll never forget. This year, they’re doing “The Big O,” a burger infused with onion soup spices and topped with provolone cheese, onion straws, grilled onions, and toasted onion aioli. Only the Gulch and Lenox Village locations are participating – sorry to our Mount Juliet readers…I was lookin’ forward to that one!
  • Scoreboard – Scoreboard has some of the most reliable bar food on the east side of Nashville. I love the Music Valley area because it feels like one of the last few parts of town untouched by gentrification. So, any time I’m around, I’ll go grab a burger or some hot chicken. They’re doing a Southwest Burger highlighted by onion rings and barbecue sauce.
  • Hi-Fi Clyde’s – Big fan of Hi-Fi Clyde’s and their brunch menu. The burger their doing for this event is highlighted by chipotle cream and pickled jalapeños, but I once had a brunch burger there that I swear cured my hangover instantly.
  • The Pharmacy – It’s been considered among the best burgers in town for so long that it’s now a meme and the locals have begun resenting The Pharmacy because of it. That’s a mark of success! I don’t care what the haters say, the stroganoff burger is elite. They’re doing a spinach artichoke burger this year.
  • Slider House – I’ll be honest, the one time I ate there, I was drunk and just picking off of my wife’s plate, but we both found it to be quite satisfying so I’ll vouch for ’em. Their Burger Week offering is TBD.

Check out the Nashville Scene’s Burger Week site – they even have an app you can download too – for photos of all of the burgers that the restaurants will be serving up as well as their participating locations (for those that have more than one), and the addresses. Have fun and remember to consume burgers responsibly. It might mean two more hours on the treadmill every day, but it’s worth it for this glorious holiday.
