Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the slept-on summer fragrance, Black Sand Beach.
You get an extra Yankee Candle review from me this month! I know you’re all just doing cartwheels. My wife and I needed one more summer candle to get us through the season. We have our Mountain Lodge, Vineyard, and Midsummer’s Night to get us through those late summer months when I’m tired of all the beachy and fruity scents, but we needed one more candle to hold us over until August or so. That’s what compelled me to hit up our local Yankee Candle a couple of weeks ago and come away with Black Sand Beach.
And, I love it. I am better for discovering this candle, and I’m even better better for only paying $12 for it. What a steal. This is a nice bridge candle between “vacation season” and “please let it be fall already” season. You get a hint of the beach, but it has a musky scent to it that is reminiscent of Midsummer’s Night, Storm Watch, Summer Storm, and candles of that ilk. Black Sand Beach kind of smells like someone spritzed some fine quality cologne while you’re on the beach.
Recommended Burning: You just got back to your rental from a day at the beach. You can still smell the coconut suntan lotion you slathered all over your partner’s body. You realize that you didn’t put any on and you actually smell like sweat and ass from being out in the sun all day. You light some Black Sand Beach and hope it distracts your partner from smelling your stank ass.
