I gotta start this post off by saying up front that I have no way of verifying if this is actually happening in an Amazon warehouse. I have no source that can confirm that this video is anything more than some viral AI-generated nonsense that is all the rage right now. I don’t even know that these are really robots. They could honestly be men in costumes for all I know. But, it’s more about the trend…the idea…than anything else. I just happened to stumble upon this video while doom scrolling Twitter last night and knew it was something I’d have to write about and share with the world.
Amazon has begun testing humanoid robots, named Digit, in its US warehouses. This development marks another significant step in the company’s automation initiatives. pic.twitter.com/QciM5SjMRR

I just want to expose more people to this idea because some of these gargantuan companies are going to stop at nothing to increase efficiency and profit, and the stone cold hard ass icy truth is that the way to do that is to automate jobs, reduce human error, and stop cutting people paychecks. If you’re not in on this idea, you’re bound to get left behind. Hell, I’m actually mentally prepared for this idea and I’m still probably going to be left behind.
Does it matter that these robots are moving slow as shit? Nope. Not one bit. That’s not going to stop a company the size of Amazon. Does it even matter if they get the order right? Nope. They’re just going to plow on through and work out the kinks as they go. Remember when that driverless car hit that woman? Did that slow down technology? Actually, maybe it did. I don’t remember it that well, but my point is that they’re all still working on automated vehicles.
Governments move so damn slow. Now would be a good time for politicians and citizens alike to start thinking about what the world is going to look like as companies continue to push for this kind of progress. Me personally, I would just like to let our robot overlords know that I’m totally cool with being a pet if they’re reading this.
