Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
Gonna use my first question for chaos and ask if you’ve tried mayo in your coffee like your boy Will Levis?
— new year, same brett (@thebrettclark) January 4, 2024
Answer:
You know…I owe you one, Brett. I’m going to add this to my list for next week because I completely forgot about it. I haven’t tried it, but I haven’t forgotten my word either. I’ll get a video up soon.
Question:
Alt vs Fashanu
— Goody (@real_goody) January 4, 2024
Answer:
It’s still Alt for now until I dig into more tape for both guys, but I’m planning an ‘Alt vs. Fashanu’ dual scouting report for Stacking The Inbox soon.
Question, from E on Instagram:
How is Mars in Capricorn treating you so far?
Answer:
E, I guess it’s alright. I’m feeling pretty refreshed after the holiday break, but not in a restful sense…more of a “what will be will be” sense that has enabled me to relax a little more. I’ve streamlined a lot of my goals for the year, and feel a little more focused than I usually do. I’m eager to get going.
Question, from McCash on Instagram:
What’s Mike Vrabel’s New Years Resolution?
Answer:
To make whatever friction is going on behind the scenes work with Ran Carthon and start building a winner!
Question:
How did the SoBros network come to be the sloshed content monster it is now today?
— Jake Robertson (@GloryDaySports) January 4, 2024
Answer:
That is a story that may be far too long for a mailbag answer, Jake, but I’ll tell you this – there was a vision back in 2013 to write more honest content that reflected who we are as people transparently. I didn’t want to write for an editor anymore. I wanted to be myself, and I believed that when people are their genuine selves…not writing for clickbait…that’s when you get the best stuff. And, when you’re honest with your audience, you can build a genuine connection. That’s what I wanted – to entertain people, but to also bring people together and form a community. I am of the opinion that the routine of everyday life can grow quite stale, so I wanted to do my part to break that up and give people a place to hide from it all for a little bit. Beyond that, it’s just been 10+ years now of rolling up our sleeves and producing content to serve that mission. Minds right. Asses tight.
Question:
Who's your favorite president of all time?
— Coach Lowry (@ImMikeLowry) January 5, 2024
Answer:
I won’t claim to know everything about every president, but judging by my own personal library, it’s George Washington. He was a fascinating dude – I have at least five books about him and just picked up a dual biography examining the American Revolution from his perspective as well as Benjamin Franklin’s. Let’s ride.
Question:
What is your draft picks per round preference? Mine is oline, wr, cb, ilb, oline, cb depending on FA signed.
— Dan Scraggins (@danscrog) January 5, 2024
Answer:
I’m not the type to believe in ‘draft your biggest position of need no matter what,’ Dan. I’m all about value, and that is dictated by how the board falls. In other words, I’m not keen on the idea of committing to a position in each round. That said, I get the general gist of your question – I’ll phrase it like this: they need first round talent at LT, RT, WR, and CB. I think they can probably get that in free agency for WR and CB…maybe even ILB. It just depends on the price tag. So, I’m leaning LT > CB > RT > WR (a deep class) > EDGE > CB.
