So, you’re not going to get some big free agent deep dive out of me. There are too many moves out there for me to keep up with on top of working on NFL Draft prep. Still, I wanted to chime in with a few of the moves that really stood out to me so far. I might update this list as we go. I might not. I don’t know. I don’t know if we’ll have enough time. Here’s what I have so far.

My Favorite Free Agent Signings so Far, 2024

Josh Jacobs to the Packers – I was always an Aaron Jones fan, but Jacobs is on another level as a bell cow. The Packers are building something nasty up in Green Bay as they continue to stockpile weapons around Jordan Love.

Kirk Cousins to the Falcons – With all the talent that the Falcons have on offense, I’ve been dying to see it operate with a guy at the helm who can really air it out. Cousins is going to be fun to watch in Atlanta.

Brian Burns to the Giants – Okay, I guess technically not a free agent signing but you get what I’m saying here. New York got a massive deal done with the guy afterwards, but a 2nd and a 5th is absurd for one of the speediest pure pass rushers in the game. I love watching Brian Burns every chance I get and he adds some real teeth to an already formidable defensive front.

Chidobe Awuzie to the Titans – Alright, I didn’t want to make this about my Titans, but they needed two starting corners entering this offseason and went out and got a guy who is a mean man corner that should be a tone-setter as they shift gears and start to rebuild this roster.

Antonio Gibson to the Patriots – Maybe this is the fantasy owner coming out in me, but maybe they’ll finally figure out how to use this guy in New England. I know conventional wisdom would say otherwise, but it can’t get much worse than the last couple of years in Washington, right?!?!

Drew Lock to the Giants – I love this move because I really want someone to give Lock a shot, and I have absolutely no idea what the Giants are going to do at quarterback right now. Why not Lock?!

Jeff Okudah to the Texans – It’s taken awhile, but Okudah is finally starting to come into his own. He was one of my favorite players in his draft class, so his career so far has been a bit of a shock to me. He has great length, and with all that talent around him, he should be allowed to shine a little more in Houston.

Lloyd Cushenberry to the Titans – Arguably the worst offensive line in the league last season gets better by Cushenberry’s presence alone. He was the best center on the market and the Titans went out and grabbed him.

Marcus Davenport to the Lions – Davenport has low key developed into a pretty solid pass rusher. To see him line up across the formation from Aidan Hutchinson gives that front a little extra juice and it alleviates the Lions need to go edge rusher early in the draft. Smart move.

Ronald Darby to the Jags – Great value that checks a box for that team with experience. Darby can still play.

Sione Takitaki to the Patriots – A guy that I really liked doing my Browns tape study for their game against the Titans early on last season. It was easy for him to get lost in the shuffle with all of the talent on that defense, but he stood out to me and was a guy I low key wanted for the Titans. Patriots get a guy that has major upside and potential.

Yetur Gross-Matos to the 49ers – Maybe Gross-Matos hasn’t quite lived up to the hype since being drafted, but he still has some really good traits and his fit in San Francisco seems bound to tap into his potential. I’d put him on ‘breakout season’ watch.
