You don’t have to tell me what hard work the NFL Draft is. I feel like the last three months of my life has been dedicaed to the Stacking The Inbox draft guide. I mean, for goodness sake, I felt guilty for sitting in my recliner and doing nothing for a few hours yesterday because I felt like I should be watching some tape or something. That’s why I can certainly appreciate Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald putting on their “gas station shirts” and just going to work during the 2024 NFL Draft. The grind don’t sleep. I don’t think this is cringe in the slightest bit…
#Seahawks GM John Schneider on why he and HC Mike Macdonald wore mechanic shirts on Day 3 of the NFL Draft:

“We’re going to work. Getting up, and this is the day we just get after it. It’s just like, hey, we’re not gonna outsmart you, we’re gonna outwork you.” pic.twitter.com/Renn2NMuQ6
There might not be a quicker way to let everyone know that you actually don’t know anything about manual labor than by calling a mechanic’s shirt a “gas station shirt.” Like, if I’m a mechanic, I’m looking at this and I’m actually insulted. I’ve worked in a paint and body shop in a 108-degree paint booth. It’s not exactly mechanic work, but it’s close enough for me to say it’s probably nothing like drafting football players. I can’t believe I wanted Mike Macdonald to coach the Tennessee Titans. Jim Harbaugh might be off the hook as the cringiest coach in football. Butch Jones would be proud of this shit.
I also love how Schneider tried to act like this wasn’t some sort of attention stunt. The reporter asks him why he’s wearing a mechanics shirt, and he’s just like “oh what? This old thing?” Come on, man. I’m not buying it one bit, John Schneider! I’m not buying it one bit!
