Man, I don’t know what Dwayne “The Final Boss “The Rock”” Johnson did to piss off The Wrap, but they have put out one hell of an article. In it, Umberto Gonzalez pens report after report citing DJ’s repeated tardiness to shoots, certain costars he had it out with over his tardiness, and much more. It’s a very enlightening piece that I recommend everyone taking the time to read. Me? I just can’t get over this one little nugget from the piece that apparently Johnson pisses in Voss bottles on set.
“On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom,” one insider who knows the movie star well said. “He pees in a Voss water bottle and his team or a PA has to dispose of it.”
This story is incredible, but I can’t think of anything else. I wish Umberto had saved that part for the end because then I wouldn’t have had to go back and reread paragraphs because I was thinking to myself, “wait, what?” We’ve heard lots of weird celebrity behavior throughout the years, but I can’t recall anyone pissing in bottles – I don’t know what the real issue is here. Someone has to follow up with DJ on this one. Is he pissing in bottles because he doesn’t feel comfortable in public bathrooms? Does he not have time to walk to the bathroom? It sure sounds like he has a ton of time the way he makes people wait on set. I don’t know, man. This strikes me as one of those things where maybe he just secretly enjoys pissing in bottles and has to justify his behavior somehow. I don’t know – I certainly don’t have Umberto’s sources. That’s just a hunch.
We’ve been having fireside chats, as the boys tend to do when they get together, and Johnson’s star has been a hot topic of discussion in recent years. It’s fascinating to watch because at one point, this man was one of the hottest names and biggest draws in the business. But, lately, his star has started burning out a bit. Stories like this paint a picture of a guy who is just trying to hang on, and I think if you asked the film critic in your social circle, they might wince a bit when you bring up his name. It’s been a hot minute since the man’s had a project that really caught on, and the stuff with Black Adam and DC put a bit of a stink on his name. Now, you have outlets that are going scorched Earth on his character and it paints a very different picture from what DJ himself tries to put forth on social media. It’s kind of wild to watch, but however this thing ends, I’ll have my popcorn ready. It may be better than any movie the man’s ever done.
