Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re wrapping up the summer season with a look at Summer Wish.
The dog days of summer are here. Hopefully, they’re dwindling. I swear I can detect the faintest of temperature changes at night these days. It’s like the breeze is actually cool again after being the rough equivalent of blowing steam in our faces the last two months. But, while I’m already trying to force autumn’s arrival in my head, we have one more month’s episode of Yankee Candle Reviews to get to. I was pleasantly surprised by Summer Wish, having never heard of it until I found it at a recent sale.
My fondest affinity for a Yankee Candle lies within a connection the fragrance makes with me. Summer Wish instantly reminded me of those summer days playing disc golf – you could smell the freshness of the great outdoors, but we also carried dryer sheets in our pockets. They help keep the mosquitos away, and in humid middle Tennessee, you bet your ass that’s important when you’re doing anything outside in the summertime. Summer Wish adds a sort of candied sweetness to that fresh air smell that just takes me back to those carefree days when we could get a quick 18 in between clocking out of work and heading home for dinner. These things are going for $50 on eBay with the old labels on ’em – shit, I don’t know if I like it that much, but I’d highly endorse this scent regardless.
Recommended Burning: It’s a beautiful golden hour, ripe with lush green scenery. The sun is breaking the canopy of the forest, scattering rays of light across the land. You bathe in it. Nude. Frolic in the leaves. Light this candle and carry it with you as you finish your 18 holes at the disc golf course. Again, nude.
