The weather in middle Tennessee has truly been a blessing as of late. Mornings are chilly, the sun is setting earlier everyday, and pumpkin spice is back everywhere you look. Things seem to be ushering us all into autumn in the best way. And, with autumn comes the spooky season. Here are a few events around Nashville to help you plan your 2024 season accordingly!

Frighteningly Fun Events Around Nashville this Fall

1. The Groove is bringing back Fright Night Fridays. The movies are shown in the backyard of the record store, and it’s always such a chill and cozy event. This year Besitas will be serving agua frescas and spooky treats each night. From the Groove’s website:

Join us in the backyard for Fright Night Fridays – a favorite free tradition here at the store. We’ll provide the movie and popcorn. You bring a chair, blanket, and drinks and we’ll enjoy the scares together.

  • Sept 27th – Slumber Party Massacre
  • Oct 4th – Poltergeist (1982)
  • Oct 11th – Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2
  • Oct 18th – Friday The 13th Part 2
  • Oct 25th – Night Of The Demons

2. Eastside Bowl is hosting Eye Production’s Halloween Ball IV. This event was an absolute blast year and I can’t wait to go back. It was the perfect party to celebrate the season. There will be bands, a photo booth, costume contests, and a spooky market with vendors. Check out more information from the Facebook event.

3. The Sandworm has popped up at the Noelle hotel’s Hidden Bar. With the new movie releasing in theaters recently, Beetlejuice is so hot right now.. The videos of this pop-up look so fun and festive. Plan a day to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and head to Hidden Bar for an after movie cocktail to yap about all things sandworms, ghosts, and Delia Deetz.

4. Sweet Tooth Carnival of Chaos Haunted House Experience is taking over Game Terminal’s back patio. Total Terror’s Production is teaming up with the arcade to bring Nashville’s freshest haunt. Game Terminal seems to take Halloween very seriously so I am very excited to see what they have in store for us this year. Check out their Instagram for all the creepy details.

5. Dracula is going to be stalking around TPAC’s Polk theater in early October. You can’t celebrate the spooky season without Drac himself, and the Nashville Ballet is making sure of that. I personally think TPAC is one of the classiests venues in the Nashville area and this event seems like it’s right on par for a more upscale Halloween celebration. Here’s the rundown:

Delve into the dark, passionate world of Dracula , a ballet rich in love, lust, and eternal desire, set against a backdrop of Gothic mystery. Dracula captivates with its tale of immortal yearning. In contrast, George Balanchine’s Serenade is a serene masterpiece, a testament to the beauty of classical ballet, danced to Tchaikovsky’s haunting “Serenade for Strings in C” played live by The Nashville Symphony. This double feature promises an unforgettable blend of a thrilling narrative and exquisite dance.

6. Slaughterhouse/Full Moon Cineplex. I’ve gushed about Full Moon before, but there is no way I was leaving them off this list. It’s truly the best place in the Nashville area to celebrate Halloween. You can catch a movie at the cineplex, eat a homemade meal, and get the hell scared out of you at the attached haunted house. There’s truly no place like it. Full Moon has posted a few of the movies they will be showing in October but be sure to check back on their website so you don’t miss anything.

7. Dr. Gangrene and friends are throwing down at the Horror Hootenanny on October 18th this year. Nashville’s own horror host is bringing the 18th annual installment of this event to East Nashville’s Cobra to celebrate Halloween with music, costume contests, and good ole fashioned spooky season fun. Check out more details on their Facebook event

However you decide to spend this year’s spooky season, have fun and stay safe!
