Ever since I saw Hugh Grant steal the show in 2019’s The Gentlemen, he’s been in the back of my mind whenever that conversation comes up about actors who could make a real Oscars run late in their career. We’ve seen it with guys like Brendan Fraser. I’d put Colin Farrell in that category. It looked like they were trying to make the Josh Hartnett comeback happen there for a hot minute. You get my point. Why not Grant? Throughout the years, he’s really branched out and done some more interesting stuff than the sappy rom-coms he was known for back in the 90s. On the latest episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast, Brandon and I take a deep dive into Grant’s filmography. This, of course, all inspired by Grant’s recent performance in Heretic, in theaters now, which Brandon reviews at the top of this episode.
