Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question:

Answer:

I am Carolina Gold through and through, but I love a good Alabama White every once in awhile, too. There used to be a place in Mount Juliet, Catch 22, that did a Cheerwine red pepper sauce that was phenomenal, too. Haven’t found anything like it since they closed.

Question:

Answer:

I would give up Panda Express for a Titans Super Bowl. That’s dedication.

Question:

Answer:

Oh yeah – all the time. There’s a handful of guys in each class. I remember being super high on Jonathan Mingo, but I don’t think he’s the best example of this because he’s at least got a shot to turn things around still in Dallas. A better example would be Adetomiwa Adebawore, the defensive tackle out of Northwestern from a couple of drafts ago. I had him as my 13th overall player – he ended up being a Day 3 pick, and I don’t think he’s ever even seen the field for the Colts. You learn over time not to get “fun” and “good” mixed up. But, there are so many variable that go into success in the NFL – no one really wants to talk about those gray areas. It’s a black-and-white good-or-bad type of thing. But, you can be 100% right about a prospect only for them to land in a terrible situation and never pan out. There’s a flow to it that catches up with every “draft analyst” at some point or another.

Question:

Answer:

I’m not a big horror buff (puts me too on edge). I was going to say Drive My Car, but my guy Travis replied to this question and listed Past Lives among his answers and now I want to steal it. Past Lives was awesome.

Question:

Answer:

Oh, I’m quitting my job and only working on writing and podcasting. I make a comfortable salary now, and I don’t need riches. Let me do what I love and also actually have time to enjoy my life a little too.

Question:

Answer:

Depends on which Baker Mayfield, obviously, but I’m going to assume we’re talkin’ Bucs Baker Mayfield, and I would be okay with that. Not enthused, but not bummed. Just okay.

Question:

Answer:

Favorite vegetable is easily the onion – love it in everything I cook. Go-to drinkin’ gin would be Wild Roots – it’s in a good price range, has a nice bouquet of botanicals, and goes down smooth.

Question:

Answer:

Jackson Hawes out of Georgia Tech – easy one.

Question:

Answer:

I’m here for the trips – I can’t remember what even felt like for the Titans to be in the Super Bowl. But, I loved how it felt when we got close in 2019. I want that every year. I don’t really take the losses all that hard. But, I’d love for the Super Bowl to feel more meaningful to me personally.

Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
