Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re digging up a Returning Favorite in Jasmine Green Tea.
You guys know by now that I always love a good Returning Favorite. If I can find one with an older label, I’m 100% buying that shit. That’s what happened back in December at this year’s semi-anny (semi-annual clearance sale). I walked in, saw that old label, and I was sold. When I saw that it was Jasmine Green Tea, which I’d never even heard of before discovering it, I was ecstatic. It’s like finding a diamond in a coal mine (I imagine, at least – I’ve never found a diamond in a coal mine before so I technically do not know what it feels like).
When I got home and sniffed that sumbitch, I was impressed. I’ve talked extensively on this site about all of the things that we know Yankee Candle does well – fresh/outdoors, apple, pumpkin, baked goods in general. I get it – but there’s a small contingent of ‘tea’ fragrances that they do well too. It’s a tad underrated. Jasmine Green Tea is no different – combining the rich, distinct fragrance of green tea with the floral notes of jasmine in it give this one a unique springtime feel. I’ve been burning this bad boy since the end of February. If you can find one, I’d recommend you do the same.
Recommended Burning: You got caught mowing the backyard in the rain – the first mow of the season, no less. How silly. You come inside, rinse off in the shower as a pot of green tea boils on the stovetop. You’re caught up in the sound of the rain gently wrapping at your window – the tea kettle whistles, and you pour a cup. As you’re standing in your front window, enjoying your warm green tea and the sights and sounds of an impromptu spring shower, you realize you never put your clothes back on and all of the traffic driving by can see you butt ass naked. You quickly step away from the window and hope that no one has called the cops on you.
