Have you had any significant shift in opinions on players since the draft? Have rookie minicamps or team fits changed how you envision a player performing in the NFL? Or is it too early for all that?
Answer:
Nothing significant yet, Jacob. I do think it’s still too early for all of that. Remember Ojukwumania starting last May? How did that play out when the season started? The closest to this feeling that I’m at right now is with Femi Oladejo. I was pretty critical of the pick to begin with, but seeing him around practice and the energy and juice he’s brought to the defense has made me come around a bit.

How’s Vanderbilt football looking for this upcoming season?
Answer:
One thing is for certain, Ed. The vibes this summer are feeling a lot different for Vandy football than they were a year ago. There is some buzz for this program heading into the season. The question is how they perform with a little bit of expectations. Getting Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers back for 2025 is a big plus, but the depth on offense is going to be a work in progress. They should be deep enough on defense to be competitive, so who knows? Maybe they can keep the mojo going and take the next step as a program. That’s where they’re at right now.
