Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
Late addition final add. Because its fun and new. Who on the titans do you think has the best chance of winning the "protector of the year" award.
— eddie (@wondernomma) August 14, 2025
Answer:
This is a good one! For me, it comes down to two names – for one, expectations are high for Peter Skoronski going into Year 3. He has developed nicely, and with another year in this system presumably at full health, he should make a leap to the Pro Bowl caliber level we’ve expected out of him since he was drafted. Since he plays guard, and unfortunately, the position is a little more invisible, I think JC Latham may be the more likely winner. Switching back to the right side, it certainly seems as though we’ve already seen an up tick in his play. He’s already projected to be one of the better right tackles in the league if you listen to guys like Brandon Thorn of Trench Warfare (which…you should listen to Brandon Thorn!).
Question:
Do any other sports check any of the same boxes that football does for you?
— Lowry (@ImMikeLowry) August 13, 2025
Answer:
No way – I love football. It’s modern day gladiators. It’s the ultimate human chess match. There are so many variables that success is born of a highly intricate machine. Studying it gets me fucking hyped. Nothing else does that for me.
Question:
Where does Vandy athletics fall in the pecking order of prominence of college and professional teams in Tennessee?
— Ed Helinski 🇺🇸🇵🇱 🌴 (@MrEd315) August 13, 2025
Answer:
I’d still say the Vols are kings in these parts, Ed. And, all of the pro sports are going to take precedence over Vandy, too. Maybe even the Memphis bubble, but the prestige of Vandy is growing with the legend of Diego Pavia. We’ll see what this season can do for them.
Question:
Why do you think the sketch comedy writer to horror movie pipeline is so prolific. Cregger, Peele, Krasinski?
— eddie (@wondernomma) August 13, 2025
Answer:
It’s a fantastic question that I’m not sure there’s a perfect answer for. I would say that both genres are at their best when they’re used as metaphors for real life….sort of “poking fun” at the real world. I think as far as skillsets go…the styles are structured similarly between jump scares and punch lines. Both are big moments that can generate a rush in an audience. I also think both are incredibly difficult to do well – so, chances are, if you can get really good at one, you can probably become really good at the other. I’m going to chew on this one for awhile, though.
Question:

Answer:
Nothing to add here. I love this photo. I love this response from Eddie.
