Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question:

Answer:

With a light SoBros Mailbag this week, I’m glad you asked this question so I can really dig into it, TK. I’m stoked about this Titans season. Now, people may read that and think it means that I’m optimistic about the team’s chances of success. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. It’s complicated. I’m really excited that the Titans believe they got their franchise guy in Cam Ward. It’s been quite some time since there’s been this level of excitement about the Titans quarterback position…I’d say….probably since the drafting of Marcus Mariota and that was 10 years ago. If he is everything they seem to think he’s going to be, it’s going to be fun to watch his development.

But, we have to take a step back and look at this roster as a whole. The Titans still need a couple of acquisition cycles before they can replenish this roster and build it out to the full extent of the vision. So, I think they could still end up losing a lot of games because of the anemic pass rush, a thin secondary, and sub par depth overall. So, if you can stomach those losses, this season is just about the vibes alone. I think this is going to be a feisty, scrappy offense, and my hope is that we’re entering the offseason thinking next year is going to be the year this unit takes a major step forward. If they’re a contender this year, it will be a delightful surprise. But, it’s all about setting expectations – like I said, 2025 is about the vibes on offense to me, but I can’t wait to get some new tape to watch.

Question:

Answer:

I think they’re going to be an awfully interesting team to watch, Ed. They’re returning some talent, and I love the moxie of Diego Pavia. But, how will they fare when their opponents see them coming? I don’t think they’re exactly sneaking up on anyone this season. I don’t know about their National Championship aspirations, but this should undoubtedly be a bowl team again.

Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
