Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re kicking off the holiday season with Big Apple Christmas.
An apple and a fruitcake walk into a bar. Nine months later, out pops Big Apple Christmas. That’s really all this one boils down too. It’s front loaded on the candied apple fragrance, but it’s the festive spices that give candied fruit vibes. It combines for a fantastic holiday fragrance that resides well outside the norms of sugar cookies and Christmas trees. In a way, you could call it art in that regard.
Man, I love the Big Apple. That’s New York City for the uninitiated. I never got the impression that it smelled like candied apples and fruitcake, but that’s neither here nor there. My guess is that someone at Yankee Candle spent a night in New York City and really enjoyed some candied apples somewhere and just immediately associated that experience with the city itself. It’s the only explanation that makes sense for why this candle even exists.
Recommended Burning: The chill wind whips across your face. You’re strolling home from a long day at the office, and the thought of a warm bath is keeping you going. You arrive home only to find your partner waiting on you in the kitchen, completely nude, with a fresh fruitcake. You immediately disrobe and begin smearing the fruitcake across each other’s bare chests. As you walk to the shower, you light up Big Apple Christmas so the aroma fills the bedroom when you make passionate love later.
